Webinar in distance learning
Due to the spread of Covid-19 virus in the world, as in many countries, the educational process in Georgia has been suspended and schools have continued to teach remotely.
This was a new challenge for Georgian teachers. Georgian Public Interests Defense Association (GPIDA) has decided to share the experience of distance learning with Georgian teachers.
On the 14th of March, 2020, a webinar was held regarding distance learning, led by GPIDA education specialists Tamar Mosiashvili and Davit Liparteliani. For this purpose, the Facebook group "Distance Learning" was created. Up to 6000 Georgian teachers joined above mentioned Facebook group on the first day. On the very first day of the webinar the teachers were introduced about:
- Peculiarities of distance learning;
- Opportunities to plan and implement distance learning based on available resources.
It is noteworthy, that the very first distance lecture was attended by more than 5000 teachers who had the opportunity to ask questions and get answers regarding distance learning.
Currently, 11 289 teachers and specialists in the field of education in Georgia are members of the distance learning group. The members of the group actively share their experience with each other, as well as periodically conduct webinars covering the issues arising in the process of distance learning, which helps to implement distance learning in Georgian schools and improve this process.
