Together against drop-out of education because of poverty

Georgian NGOs “Regional Development Society– Scholarship Fund” and Civic Development Institute (CDI) presented their program aiming at fighting the drop-out of education for reasons of poverty on December 25th.

The Scholarship Fund aims to support and fully finance students from remote regions, who cannot continue their studies because of lack of financial means. The fund was established in 2015. The Fund currently supports 5 students with high academic performance.

Tamar Mosiashvili, Education Programme manager at CDI presented the paper “How to reduce impact of poverty on education” and introduced video application “Influence of poverty on education”, which was prepared by Civic development Institute in the frame of the “Caucasus Network for Children” (CNC) advocacy program.

Natia Bukia, founder of the Scholarship-Fund: “We are glad that many of you decided to support our fund. All young people should have the possibility to continue studying. This is our fund’s first steps”.

Civic Development Institute representatives became fund donors.  The team will continue the cooperation with the “Regional Development Society – Scholarship Fund”.
