CNC General Assembly reviews its work in 2015
At its fourth General Assembly CNC members discussed their activities in the field of inclusive education in 2015.
The Fourth General Assembly of the Caucuses Network for Children (CNC) convened in Istanbul on November 25 and 26 following the two day meeting of the CNC Board.. The member organizations told stories of their activities targeting vulnerable children and exchanged experience in working towards the common vision that all children should have equal access to quality education.
The Assembly also held elections and gave its vote of confidence once again to Tamar Mosiashvili from the Georgian “Civic Development Institute” as Coordinator of the Network for an additional term of one year.
In relation to future cooperation for the member organizations, CNC payed special attention to the fact that “inclusive and equitable quality education” has been included as goal number 4 in the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. The UN has launched this “plan of action for people, planet and prosperity” this fall. 17 goals have been defined that seek to “eradicate poverty in all its forms and dimensions” by the year 2030.
For CNC, the Sustainable Development Goals serve as a strong affirmation of its own goal – to advance the inclusion into education for all children in the Caucasus. The Network hopes that the Sustainable Development Goals will serve as an incentive and will move things forward in the region.
