Since its establishment in 1996 Bridge of Hope has been working in the field of disability and human rights influencing the paradigm shift in existing approaches to disability issues in Armenia.

The key directions of BOH programs are:
Support to the development and expansion of inclusive basic and vocational education in Armenia; Support to access to community based support services to children and youth with disabilities and their families;
- Support the leadership of children/youth with disabilities and their families at schools and communities through their capacity building and empowerment;
- Change public attitude towards the rights and capabilities of people with disabilities and strengthen the social model of disability through small and large scale awareness raising campaigns;
- Lobby for improvements in Armenian legislation against the principles and requirements of Un CRPD;
- Mobilize the disability organizations to join and launch disability movement in Armenia;
For its valuable contributions in different sectors of disability BOH has got high level awards and acknowledgements among which are: Highest Award of the Ministry of Education of Armenia – Gold Medal; Medal and acknowledgement of the Prime Minister of Armenia; Highest Award of the Ministry of Labor and Social Issues - Gold Medal. In 2009 Bridge of Hope has been awarded the Annual Positive Award - Golden Key of the NGO “Freedom of Information center of Armenia” as the most active NGO supporting the people's constitutional right to have access to information.
